The Sacré-Cœur Basilica: Montmartre’s Crown Jewel
Perched at the summit of Montmartre, the Sacré-Cœur Basilica is the district’s magnificent centerpiece. Its gleaming white domes dominate the Paris skyline, offering one of the city’s most spectacular views. The basilica itself is a masterpiece of architecture and spirituality, blending Byzantine and Romanesque styles into a breathtaking monument.
More than just a landmark, the Sacré-Cœur is a place of peace and reflection. Inside, marvel at the vast mosaics, intricate stained glass, and the grand organ, while outside, enjoy sweeping vistas of Paris stretching all the way to the Eiffel Tower.

Sacré-Cœur Basilica Practical Information
The basilica is open every day of the year without exception.
We welcome visitors from 6:30 AM to 10:30 PM, and entrance is free for all.
Important: Between 10:30 AM and 5 PM, visitor crowds may cause waits of 10 to 15 minutes before entering the sanctuary. Your patience will be rewarded with a deeply moving and unforgettable visit inside.
Closing times may be extended during major celebrations such as the Easter Vigil, special prayer vigils, and the Holy Hour prayer held the first Thursday of every month.
Each day, no fewer than four masses are celebrated in the basilica, with five on Fridays due to the 3 PM mass. From Tuesday to Sunday, the Benedictine Sisters of the Sacré-Cœur of Montmartre pray the Divine Office within the basilica.
Upon entering, a Benedictine Sister or one of our volunteers is available at the Welcome Desk to answer any questions you may have.
